Skills4EII: Building the Skills Europe Needs for Its Green Transition
Launched in 2025, Skills4EII is an Erasmus+ project focused on upskilling and reskilling the workforce of Europe’s energy-intensive industries (EIIs)—including steel—during the green and digital transition.
The initiative builds on the results of previous blueprints like SPIRE-SAIS and ESSA, and brings together more than 30 partners across Europe. Its goal: to create a scalable, demand-driven skills framework that empowers people, companies, and regions to thrive in a changing industrial landscape.
What’s in it for key stakeholders?
- For Workers: New learning pathways, tailored micro-credentials, and flexible training formats that support career growth in future-ready industries.
- For Companies: A clear roadmap for workforce transformation—identifying skills gaps, aligning with EU goals, and collaborating with educators and policymakers.
- For Education Providers: Co-created content and digital platforms that respond to industry needs—improving employability and modernizing curricula at affordable prizes.
- For Europe: A cross-sectoral skills strategy that supports decarbonisation, digitalisation, and industrial resilience.
🤝 We invite stakeholders across the steel ecosystem—companies, educators, and policymakers—to follow and support the project as it develops.
Together, we can help ensure that Europe’s green transition is powered by the right skills, in the right places, at the right time.
