The global steel industry is entering a decisive decade for climate action. Reducing emissions while continuing to meet growing steel demand will require innovation at unprecedented speed and scale.
The second Breakthrough Technologies Conference (BTC2025), organised by worldsteel, will take place in Singapore on 2 and 3 December 2025, bringing together leaders and experts from across the world to address one of the industry’s greatest challenges — achieving climate neutrality.
This event will cover all technologies capable of significantly reducing CO₂ emissions from iron and steelmaking processes, including but not limited to hydrogen reduction and use, carbon capture and storage (CCS), carbon capture and utilisation (CCU), carbon reuse, and more.
Achieving meaningful progress will depend on our ability to turn these technologies into large-scale, deployable solutions. BTC2025 will provide a platform for collaboration between research and industry — a space where ideas become innovations and innovations become real pathways toward sustainable steelmaking.
