Known Prohibited Exploits
The following are known exploits that may result in disqualification during the audit phase:
1.0 | Electric Arc Furnace simulation
1.1 | To manipulate the simulation rate in certain particular moments during the melting can produce a sudden jump in the molten steel temperature. Using the event log the audit team can detect the actions purposely executed to benefit from this action.
1.2 | There might be some benefits in dividing the materials into three baskets instead of two. Runs using three baskets, having materials that can fit into two baskets, will be considered not valid.
2.0 | Secondary Steelmaking simulation
2.1 | Manipulation of browser’s zoom cause the animations to slow down and interferes with the mathematical model. Most of the effects of this action are detrimental to the participant but there might be some unknown benefits. Runs in which the browser’s zoom is changed will be disqualified. |
