Description
Estimated time: 0.50 hours
In the past, body structures were made primarily of mild steel. But the new demands for lighter vehicles that meet stringent crash requirements have caused a shift to use lightweight Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS) in combination with various manufacturing processes, like tailored blanks and hot forming.
At the end of this 3D experience you should be able to:
* Compare the steels used in a vehicle Body structure.
* Identify the different parts of a vehicle Body structure.
* Describe the mechanical properties of each steel.
