SUMMARY OF THE COURSE

The Steel Structures Detailing course is a mixed educational proposal that combines online materials with live interaction with teachers and experts. Lasting 36 hours, this training is offered through an alliance between the Asociación Latinoamericana del Acero (Alacero) and steeluniversity, the training program of World Steel Association (worldsteel).

The objective of the course is to provide fundamental knowledge for the performance of professionals and those interested in completing their training on the subject on detailing conventions, associated documentation and the interrelationships with the entire process that goes from the design to the assembly of steel structures. Emphasis is placed on application exercise and guidance examples are offered.

In addition, there will be live consultation classes with teachers to correct any doubts. Within the materials offered by the course, students will have the possibility of using virtual simulators of bolted and welded connections.

Audience: Civil engineers or related with little or no experience in the design and detailing of steel structures and technicians with basic knowledge and experience in structural calculation.

Duration: The total course will last 36 hours over 9 weeks. A dedication of 4 hours per week is estimated, which will be divided between virtual classes, free moments of study and content review with schedules for live consultations with the teachers.

Simulators
