MET01051 – Basic Concept of Recrystallisation

The basic concept of recrystallisation is an introductory course about ferrous metallurgy. It explores the basic concept of thermomechanical processing of steel whereby the granular structure of steel is changed to meet desired properties. Topics covered include:

  • Nucleation and growth,
  • Partial dislocations and stacking fault energy,
  • Annealing related phenomena.
