Summary of the lecture
For more than twenty years, WorldAutoSteel’s Advanced High-Strength Steels (AHSS) Application Guidelines have served as a trusted technical reference for engineers, researchers, and designers involved in vehicle design and manufacture. The guidelines provide comprehensive information on AHSS metallurgy, forming, joining, and welding, supporting innovation in automotive performance, safety, and sustainability.
In this steelTalk, editors Dr.-Ing. Max Biegler and Dr. Danny Schaeffler present an overview of the upcoming release of the AHSS Application Guidelines. The discussion will highlight the latest updates and best practices, reflecting advances in materials science and forming technology that enable lighter, stronger, and more efficient steel-based vehicles.
Participants will also gain practical insights into how to apply the guidelines effectively in vehicle development—maximising forming and joining performance while aligning with industry goals for reduced emissions and resource efficiency.
Speaker Introduction
Dr. Danny Schaeffler
