Summary of the lecture
The construction system “Steel Framing” has gained great relevance today for its versatility, speed and sustainability. In this seminar, the architect Ariel Sueiro will introduce us to the main features of this system that contribute to a more sustainable world. In addition, we will analyse its evolution that positions it today in one of the most efficient systems in the use of resources on site.
Finally, we will explore various applications for solutions to housing problems in large urban centres, such as the redevelopment of Villa 31 in the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Speaker Introduction
Ariel Sueiro
Ariel Sueiro is an architect from the University of Buenos Aires (UBA) and has a long history linked to sustainable construction and design. He specialises in building systems, sustainability, efficiency and insulation, among other areas.
He is director of International Relations and member of the Training Commission of the Cámara Argentina de Construcción en Steel Frame. In addition, he is a full professor of Sustainable Design at the University of Palermo, a graduate teacher at the UBA and a guest professor in courses and seminars on architecture and sustainability.
Sueiro has been consultant of government programs and international organisations within his field, founding member of various associations and speaker at congresses, forums and talks. At the same time, he is a source of consultation for specialised and general interest publications.
