Summary of the lecture
Digitalisation is changing the way of working in the design, construction and operation of buildings and civil works. Building Information Modeling (BIM), in particular, is a methodology based on a three-dimensional model of the structure with adequate detail and information at every moment.
Steel structures in construction participate in this process that proposes a global vision of the project. Beyond the software that allows to generate design, analysis, detailing and construction models; that facilitates quantifications, planning and order management, the essence of BIM is to recover the integral perspective that engineering and architecture have always had.
In this webinar, Jose Carlos Coya, from Zigurat, will introduce us to the BIM application in steel structures.

José Carlos Coya Piñeiro
Architect, instructor at Zigurat
José Carlos Coya Piñeiro is an architect, structural consultant and professor of BIM and Structures at Zigurat. After several years in an architecture studio, he specialised as an independent professional in the development of structural and foundation projects; work that he combines with online teaching at Zigurat.
In his work, he considers that the BIM methodology can be used both in everyday street work and in a virtual environment, especially in the field of structure modeling and interoperability between applications.
