María Bustamante Harfush is an architect graduated with the best average and honourable mention at the Universidad Iberoamericana, where she teaches classes; She holds a Master in Housing and Urbanism from the Architectural Association School of Architecture in London. She has her own María Bustamante Arquitectura Workshop.
She is a researcher and author of books such as “Tacubaya en la memoria”, “Quintas de Tacubaya”, “90 años en el Corazón de las Lomas”, “Ciudad de México: Crónica de sus Delegaciones”. She is a Chronicler of Mexico City and a member of the Miguel Hidalgo Mayor’s Office of Culture Council; Founding Member of the College of Chroniclers of Mexico City; Member of the Fundación de Arquitectura Tapatia Luis Barragán; Vice President of the Board of Trustees of the Don Antonio Haghenbeck y de la Lama Foundation; of Modern Architecture Study and Conservation AC.
She is president of FUNDARQMX (www.fundarqmx.com) a foundation whose purpose is to promote an urban architectural culture in Mexico, which was awarded this year with the “Medal of Merit in Arts” for its work in Architecture by the Congress Culture Commission of Mexico City.
