steelChallenge-19
steelChallenge is a game-based blended learning programme recognised by the global steel community as the preeminent competition to engage students and industry professionals to showcase their ability to make steel with the best quality at the lowest cost.
The Challenge
steelChallenge-19 will take place in two rounds. The Regional Championship will occur on 26 November 2024 from 12.00 UTC. Participants will have 24 hours to record successful runs of the chosen steelmaking simulators.
The regional championship attracts thousands of students who interact with our steelmaking simulators, trying to produce the required steel at the lowest possible cost. The winners of each region and category will be invited to the World Championship, usually held during the worldsteel Special General Meeting, giving the finalists a unique opportunity to meet with the world’s leading steelmakers.
Participants who register for this learning programme are given access to our Learning Solutions Directory to take e-learning courses, attend live masterclasses, interact with 3D models and practice on the simulator. There are also dedicated training workshops for top-level sponsors.
